General

• Distribution of work packages from the main tender and scope of work, compiling the BOQ with a description of each package.
• Analysis of rates for labor, material, and plant pricing, and analysis of direct and indirect costs for the RIBA stage 2 and 3 BOQ items.
• Quantity Takeoff for architectural and civil building elements (using Bluebeam software) based on pricing preambles.
• Proposing cost-saving methods using value engineering techniques.

Procurement work

• Preparation of Subcontractor/Supplier Packages, which includes BOQ, specifications, and drawings (RIBA Stage 03 & Stage 04 – JCT 2016 D & B).
• Analyses sub-contractor quotations, clarifies inclusions/exclusions, and the possible percentage of discount from the provided quotations, and prepares an analysis report.

Estimation/Costing

• Preparation of rate analysis from first principles and company database.
• Apply the agreed rate, discounts on the Pricing BOQ for supplied materials, and nominated subcontractor/specialist work to come up with the cost plan.

• Take off quantities using PDF and Bluebeam software.
• Preparation of rate breakdowns using company woodwork base rates, and price schedules.
• Coordination of subcontractor quotations.
• Carry out the monthly measurement and valuation of work in progress, and arrange to submit the progress claims to the customer.
• Preparation of bills of quantities and valuation of variation quotations/prices.
• Site visits, inspection, and site progress reporting and updating.

Cost planning & Procurement advice

• Preparation of a preliminary project estimate and cost planning using engineering industry market economics.
• Provide advice to the client on the estimate, cost alternatives, and cost plan.
• Preparation of tender documents, tender evaluations, recommendations, and advising the tender board on the selection of a contractor.

Contract Administration & Cost Estimation

• Pre-Contract Administration (Assisted with the preparation of tender documents, liaised on consultancy package management).
