The main duty of a Learning Support Officer is to assist in the development, implementation, and administration of Higher Education units and support students throughout their studies on-campus in Melbourne and online

  • As Learning Support and Student Services Officer, I look after following duties;
  • Maintain close communication with the Compliance Manager and Perth Student Services to ensure consistency and messages to students are correct and in line with current information & requirements
  • Assisting with pre-arrival and on-campus orientation for Melbourne (in liaison with Perth Student Services)
  • Support accounts in the management of on-campus student fees, including the development of financial hardship plans, and ensuring students pay fees on time
  • Assist Perth with GTE interviews in peak periods if required
  • Assist in the coordination of social and professional activities for Melbourne campus students (including guest speakers)
  • Build relationships between EIT and community groups in the interest of students
  • Support students with pastoral care through homesickness, cultural diversity (living in Australia), and settling time, including following up on absenteeism to ensure the safe welfare of students
  • Assist in CRICOS reporting requirements where necessary
  • Daily communication with students, teaching staff, and the Perth Higher Education team, maintaining student records and the Learning Management System (Moodle), assisting with tutorial scheduling, course registrations, and other administrative tasks
  • Answering customer queries
  • Receiving registrations from students and registering them on the courses that are coordinated.
  • Coordinating courses (scheduling of webinars, liaising with lecturers, compiling course materials,
  • Creating and sending certificates, maintaining accurate records on Truss for all courses, and adhering to all compliance requirements)
