I am a lifelong learner. I model a growth mindset as part of my own practice. Students respect and respond to teachers who show they are learners too. I have a long history of supporting social and emotional learning in schools. Students learn best when they feel safe and connected to their school. I am able to analyse data at the whole school level such as attitudes to school surveys and then delve more deeply through specific surveys and focus groups to enables us, as a school, to respond to student voices and provide them with agency to make changes to their school. I also support the development of a student voice in the curriculum. This includes strategies such as essential learnings or ensuring a flexible curriculum that can respond to students, reflecting their cultures and values.
