Stephanie Millan

Summary

I am a lifelong learner. I model a growth mindset as part of my own practice. Students respect and respond to teachers who show they are learners too. I have a long history of supporting social and emotional learning in schools. Students learn best when they feel safe and connected to their school. I am able to analyse data at the whole school level such as attitudes to school surveys and then delve more deeply through specific surveys and focus groups to enables us, as a school, to respond to student voices and provide them with agency to make changes to their school. I also support the development of a student voice in the curriculum. This includes strategies such as essential learnings or ensuring a flexible curriculum that can respond to students, reflecting their cultures and values.

I write to apply for the above-mentioned position at your school. I have attached my response to the selection criteria for your viewing. I have been in a leading teacher role for six years with a range of different responsibilities, and I am looking towards the next stage in my professional journey I am currently undertaking my Master in Educational Leadership, and the more I learn, the more I want to be given the opportunity to drive whole school development. I believe that learning should never stop. You will see from my attached cv that I have developed my proficiencies in a range of fields, so that when ready I would be prepared for a leadership position. I have strong values, around every child should be given the opportunity to achieve, both socially and academically, and in a range of situations. It is the schools, and leader’s responsibility to create and foster the environment for this to be achieved. I look forward to meeting with you and discussing my application further. Kind regards Stephanie Millan
