I am a graduate teacher specialised in secondary school science, biology and chemistry. I am in the early stage of my teaching career and look forward to cultivate a teaching practice which reflect and encourage student agency, voice and sense of belonging in order to develop an intrinsic motivation and autonomy in the learning process.

Planned and enacted two lesson sequences for a period of 4 weeks for two cohorts of year 7 students (Unit - Forces), and two cohorts of year 8 students (Unit – Periodic table and elements). I was able to increase student participation and communication/feedback during live classes in year 7 by the end of the term.

  • Utilized diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to assess student learning, including activities to enhance student literacy and numeracy skills within the context of science.
  • Differentiated work was planned and given to students with additional learning needs.
  • Recognized and addressed student learning needs, circumstantial issues of remote learning.
  • Implemented learning using a range of ICT resources to enhance students learning experience and engagement.
  • Modified teaching practice using diagnostic /formative assessments and student feedback.
  • Participated in the marking of VCE Biology SACs and moderating assessment for consistent and comparable judgement of student learning.
