Immuniser

• Administered a comprehensive range of immunisations across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly, adhering to national immunisation guidelines and clinical safety protocols. Ensured patients and families were well-informed about the benefits, possible side effects, and aftercare associated with each vaccine.

Clinical skills

• Performed a wide variety of clinical skills such as immunisations, wound dressings, ECG's and spirometry's as well as patient triage. Demonstrated clinical judgement in prioritising care based on patient acuity and presenting symptoms.

• Assisted in minor surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile field, preparing necessary instruments, and closely monitoring patient responses, whilst maintaining strict adherence to infection control practices.

• Across the placements I gained clinical experience in orthopaedics, neurosurgical, vascular, renal, general surgical, perioperative, and aged care and disability care settings.
• Built a strong foundation in complex post-operative care, pain management, and mobility support for patients recovering from major surgeries and trauma.
• Contributed to patient recovery using safe manual handling, wound care, neurovascular observations, and timely escalation of concerns.
