Key Capabilities

KC1

  • Designed and implemented lesson plans that meet diverse student needs, using scaffolding techniques, such as breaking down complex texts into manageable parts and using simplified language. I also integrated visual aids, like graphic organizers and illustrated storyboards, to support students' understanding and to make content accessible to all learners. For EAL/D students, I provided additional language support through bilingual resources. As a result, all students were able to engage with the material effectively, and there was a noticeable improvement in their comprehension and participation.

  • Combined subject matter teaching with literacy development and ICT skills, enhancing students' overall academic abilities. I redesigned my lesson plans to include activities that combined core content with literacy and ICT skill-building. For instance, I introduced digital storytelling projects where students examined literary (and historical) topics while using multimedia tools to create presentations. I also incorporated online research tasks, where students practiced critical reading and summarizing information while developing their ICT skills. Additionally, I have provided feedback to students in different digital forms, digital annotations and voice recording to allow all students to access personalised feedback.

  • Committed to continuously refine teaching strategies by incorporating new trends and technologies, with a focus on personalized learning and student choice.

KC2

  • Incorporated technology, such as iPads, digital tools and software to make English lessons more interactive and inclusive. I have designed lessons incorporate a variety of activities—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—to address different learning styles, like using video clips for film analysis and graphic organizers for essay planning. I have design differentiated tasks and use visual aids to support all students, including EALD students.
  • In collaboration with Unit Coordinators, HODs and FILs, I have modified the delivery of assessment pieces to ensure accessibility and equity for all students.
  • In future, I plan to explore new teaching techniques and assessments to further support and challenge diverse learners. You also aim to enhance your inclusive teaching practices by applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.

KC3

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students through clear, concise instructions and breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps, to foster understanding and engagement, resulting in increased student confidence and participation as well as positive teacher- student relationships.
  • Employed strategies like setting clear expectations and positive reinforcement to create a supportive and productive classroom environment.
  • Committed to enhancing my communication and behaviour management skills by seeking feedback , attending PDs and adjusting strategies to foster a more inclusive and cooperative classroom culture.

KC4

  • Demonstrated the importance of collaboration by working closely with colleagues and engaging with the wider school community, including regular communication with parents to enhance student learning and support.
  • Actively collaborated with other teachers to provide consistent feedback and support across subjects, ensuring a unified approach to student development.
  • Plan to strengthen partnerships by participating in collaborative initiatives and involving the community more deeply, such as through guest speakers from local organizations to provide real-world insights.
