Cover Letter

To whom it may concern,

Attached is my CV detailing some extensive experience in the building and construction industry as a Carpenter Joiner / Cabinet Maker to which i have been involved over the past 35 years. I have listed my current employer, Ingrams Fine Furniture & Shop Fitting, located in Beenleigh.

I began in the industry at 15 as a junior, sweeping floors. Now, I am an Estimator in administration. Along the way, I've worked with several companies, learning and growing to better understand the industry, for which I am truly grateful.

I have always aspired to transition my career at some point, and I believe now is the appropriate time to pursue this change. Therefore, I have undertaken training and obtained my HC Heavy Vehicle License.

My commitment to continuous learning and professional development has always driven me to seek out new skills and accreditations. The decision to obtain my HC Heavy Vehicle License is a testament to my dedication to expanding my capabilities and exploring new opportunities within a new industry. I do have some experience within the transport industry with MR Licencing regarding packing, loading delivering with also driving throughout Queensland and some Interstate travel with crate and palletised freight and not limited to joinery items for retail stores, domestic, commercial fitouts, regarding load retraits, tie downs i pride myself enough to make sure that the load is secure, but always willing to learn more along the way also when it comes to being mechanically minded, I think i can be of sound knowledge to at least try and get myself out of trouble. Other things that I pay close attention to is items listed on NHVR Website (National Heavy Vehicle Regulator), just to keep up to date with things. My future plan is to learn more about log book compliance for the record keeping and to gain my MC Multi Combination Licence by the end of the year. I am eager to leverage my extensive experience and new qualifications in a role that challenges me and allows me to contribute meaningfully to your esteemed organization. Thank you for considering my application.

Kind Regards,

A O’Brien
