The pilot currently consists of four separate CSG Wells, including two vertical fracture simulated wells (Kia Ora West 3 & 4), and a surface-to inseam lateral well. The objective of this project is to design surface facilities for the lease area of Kia Ora 5. The responsibilities included:
  • § Involved in detail design phase which includes E&I drawings, operating procedures, scope of work, cable schedules etc.
  • § Engineering management and co-ordination.
  • § Liasing with vendors on technical matters.
  • § Construction of Bill of Materials (Electrical).
  • Rio Tinto ERA, Tailings and Brine Management Project, Brisbane. Tailings and Brine Management aims to transfer tailings from the tailing's storage facility and concentrated brine from the brine concentrator to Pit 3 for permanent storage as part of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd mine closure strategy. The control system solution consists of Honeywell DCS solutions and the Allen-Bradley Logix PLC platform. The responsibilities included:
  • Involved in Feasibility design phase which includes basic engineering in which all the standard specifications, design criteria, control philosophy, data sheets, lists and MTO were generated.
  • Preparing enquiry packages/tenders and preparing vendor evaluation reports.
  • Involved in field inspections and provided immediate and effective solutions to field problems.
  • Liaising with the vendors on technical matters.
  • Holding projects kick off meeting and participating in engineering HAZOP review as required.
  • Preparation of cost estimates for process control system, safety system, IT system, optical network system, CCTV and security systems.
  • Rio Tinto ERA, Ranger Brine Concentrator Project, Brisbane, Australia. The Ranger Brine Concentrator Project aims to substantially increase the water treatment capability of the existing ERA Ranger uranium mine in the Northern Territory. The control system solution consists of Honeywell DCS solutions and the Allen-Bradley Logix PLC platform. The responsibilities included:
  • Involved in designing and upgrading the Ranger power station and integration with the new Brine Concentrator power station. The Power Station Upgrade involves the design of new control system architecture. The major aspects of the project are replacement of the legacy Allen Bradley PLC5 controller with modern Allen Bradley ControlLogix, updating and improving the Human machine interface provided by the Honeywell Experion.
  • Prepared instrument index, I/O Count, and process, operation, and control documents. Participated in HAZOPS, CHAZOPS, design reviews and site visits. Involved with SPIN (Smart Plant Instrumentation), P&ID, Terminations and Loop Drawings.
  • Worked on-site with field engineering to provide construction and commissioning support. Involved in loop IO checking and Instrumentation troubleshooting.
  • Preparation of safety management plan, specifications for safety systems and process control networks.
  • Involved in PLC functional block design, SCADA system integration configuration.
  • Involved in field inspections and provided immediate and effective solutions to field problems.
  • Anglo American Metallurgical Coal, Grosvenor Feasibility Study, Brisbane. The Grosvenor Project is located to the northern boundary of the town of Moranbah in the Central Queensland Bowen Basin Coal precinct and Metallurgical Coal's Moranbah North Mine (MNM) abuts the Project area to the north. The responsibilities included:
  • Worked on P&ID development and manages the Bentley Data Manager.
  • Developed the Electrical, Instrument & Controls integration for the new equipment to interface with the existing plant facilities.
  • Generated Tie-in system architecture for the control systems.
