I have been an active Volunteer for St John's Anglican Church in Dee Why for the majority of my life. I begun as an Acolyte at the age of 6 until I moved away to Newcastle in 2019. I have accumulated 20 years of volunteer experience. My responsibilities and duties included:
- Serving at the 10:00am family service
- Organising and coordinating the Acolytes and Sub-deacon
- Set up for children's group time
- Youth leader
- Set up and pack away the Church before and after the family service
- Engage in holiday based performances for families and children
- Clean and appropriately store valuable church assets (such as: chalices, robes, palls, crystal, Thurible etc)
- Help elderly parishioners with home affairs, such as moving, painting, cleaning and companionship
- Train new apprentices
- Serve in special services (such as: Christmas, Easter, Midnight Vigil, Ash Wednesday etc)
- Work in op shops hosted by St Johns
- Welcoming new families with teenagers into the Parish.
