Hello, my name is Koharu Sasaki, a final year university student from Japan, living in Brisbane. I am currently taking a year out from studying on a working holiday visa.
I have vast experience working in hospitality, as you can see from my past work history. The most important examples of roles that have helped me improve skills I have been working on are:
February 2023, I worked as a tourist information officer at Niseko, Japan. Due to many tourists being from overseas, I made use of my English ability to support and help them by giving directions and answering questions on things such as nearby restaurants and Japanese culture. I enjoyed working, picking up snowboarding in my spare time and hanging out with my colleagues.
August 2022, I worked as a hotel housekeeper in the Glacier National Park in the US. It was a remote place, so I had to live and work under limited internet access. I really enjoyed working, exploring nature, hiking and talking with my colleagues and guests who had different backgrounds and cultures.
July 2021, experience working as a waitress in two different restaurants. One was a fine Japanese cuisine restaurant in Tokyo, the other was a casual Japanese barbeque restaurant in the suburbs outside of Tokyo. This experience taught me how to treat customers with respect and answer requests. I believe I have taken this skill as a foundation for all my other work in hospitality from this point.
On Top of these invaluable experiences I also possess skills set out below, notably including proficiency in microsoft excel, word and powerpoint amongst others.
