Reliable and loyal long standing retail volunteer with St Vincent de Paul Society at Sumner. I have become confident at providing personalised and engaging customer service with an eye for sustainable fashion and repurposing with purpose. I am now knowledgeable of merchandising, leadership, growth and sustainability. I have a first hand appreciation for all volunteers and the role they play in supporting the retail operations as a whole. As a key holder of a store that was without a store manager for a brief period this year, I have gained extensive experience in this role as a whole. I am keen to apply for this position and further develop my skills in areas such as retail strategies and gain further insight into retail operations in general. I am well rehearsed in end of day banking and opening/closing of stores and I still like to ensure that the store is left tidy and clean for the customers on the following day such as cleaning mirrors, ensuring the POS is clear of any non essential items, the dressing rooms are clear, the toy area is tidied and the books are neat. I may not have the minimum three years experience that is required for this position, but I am willing to learn and strive for continuous improvement in an area and place that I have learnt to love. I have had previous positions in supervisory roles and back filled in positions such as Store Manager and although I do not purport to know everything, I already know how to lead and deal with volunteers, delegate tasks in order of priority to others to ensure that as a team we can all achieve key targets and operational outcomes. I am a dedicated and dependable person with already formed excellent relationships with volunteers at Vinnies but I also have a superior work ethic and am extremely keen to learn more.
