A central government agency client was undergoing a digital transformation program to upgrade its infrastructure and its website.

As a Test Manager, I was responsible for the overall development of test plans and test coverage to maintain high standard of software quality. I was responsible for outlining test strategies and test tool architecture as well as managing and mentoring the testing team for the client to deliver complex functionalities involving geospatial data integration.

Responsibilities:

• Test management and strategising testing activities to ensure that the deliverables are of a high quality.
• Working with the technical leads and developers to bring some of the websites' complex components into reality which involved complex API integration testing using geo-spatial data.
• Establishing a culture of collaboration within the QA team, fostering open communication channels among team members.
• Effectively managing testing team to make sure the testing process enhances testing effectiveness.
• Liaise with the Delivery Manager for deployments from the test environments to the production environment.
• Co-ordinate with Scrum master to finalise SIT defects for releases.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
• Plan the scope for automated smoke tests and automated regression test suites.
• Conduct detailed code reviews to ensure adherence to standards, code quality and testability.
• After each sprint, demonstrate website enhancements to stakeholders and wider business.
• Owning the end to end automation and functional testing activities and being accountable to ensure the quality assurance standards are met.
• Mentoring junior/ new team members.
• Collaborating with third-party company to perform accessibility testing across mobile and tablet devices.
• Managing daily morning stand-ups and making sure the sprint JIRA tickets are assigned within the team and actioned.
• Review completed SIT defects/user stories before passing them on to client team test lead for sign-off.

Have also worked as a lead QE and Senior QE with various other clients like AGL, Funlabs, CPA Australia, Baby Bunting, Fernwood Fitness and Treasury Wine Estates during my tenure at Avanade.
