Second year Physiotherapy student actively seeking opportunities to acquire hands-on experience and apply classroom knowledge in a clinical environment. Eager to contribute to patient care, work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, and enhance practical skills in the field of physiotherapy.
In this role, I worked with patients across all ages, performing assessments and early management of acute peripheral musculoskeletal injuries. My responsibilities included conducting subjective and objective examinations, diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions, and creating targeted treatment plans. I applied kinesiology taping, provided instruction on walking aids, managed plaster casting for peripheral fractures, and prescribed exercises for mobility and strength recovery. I conducted mobility assessments in the short-stay unit to support safe discharge planning, educated patients on their conditions and treatment, and answered questions about prognosis. I collaborated closely with the healthcare team to deliver coordinated care, ensuring adherence to best practices and patient safety under supervision. All activities were conducted under the supervision of a qualified physiotherapist, ensuring adherence to best practices and patient safety.
