Purpose of Position: To secure sales to meet revenue budget for the site at acceptable margins.

Purpose of Team: Design, manufacture, deliver and support innovative products that meet all expectations of customers.

Tendering

• Identify and source tender opportunities, ensuring correct logging of all enquiries, due dates and work undertaken to prepare tenders / bids. ·
• Coordinate the preparation of compliant tenders, quotes and bids on time and complete to the relevant specifications including all tender response documents including, Finance, WHS, HR, Quality, Experience.
• Conduct risk and value analyses to determine best value fit for purpose recommendations, ie best value for money products to offer our customers.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to detail quantities and types of materials and / or components required.
• Coordinate response to clarification questions of tenders post submission.
• Estimate quantities of and costs for materials and labour hours required.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Purchasing for required concept drawings/designs for bids and throughout the project to confirm validity of all estimates.
• Identify and source suppliers and / or processes to improve products, processes, innovation and overall competitiveness.
• Contribute to building and maintaining positive relationships with current and potential customers, suppliers and project partners.

Marketing & Sales

• Assist with events, e.g. help prepare for and attend exhibitions.
• Assist with developing marketing materials, including, Web site, Brochures, Company Profile info Pack.
• Focus customer enquiries to use of existing Varley products and designs where possible.
• Follow up initial leads from enquiries, including but not limited to site visits.
• Request / Generate Customer Referrals to new potential customers.

Authorities – Position may take these actions:

• Identify and report risks of any nature, take action to address imminent risks.
• Request or recommend personnel to contribute to preparation of tenders / bids.
• Recommend Advertising opportunities · Recommend Marketing events to attend i.e. exhibitions, conferences, trade shows etc..

Specific Benchmarks / Targets to be achieved:

• 100% of approved opportunities result in high quality on time submission ·
• 70% Tender bids won · Achieve Annual sales budget ·
• 100% of Tenders/Quotes documents and data is captured and stored in the VQ electronic folder for review / re-use and in Epicor within 48 hours of creation or update ·
• 100% of newly manufactured products added to web site within 1 week of handover to customer.

• Developed mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles and be involved in presentation of the solution to customer.
• Provided technical support to external and internal customers.
• Resolved operational problems related to projects and minimise delays or unexpected cost increases.
• Responsible for project success as part of a project team.
• Ensured all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
• Supported sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities.
• Interpreted client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and in budget.

• Performed CFD simulation of IC Engine with differential spark timing and varying piston heads.
• Conducted CFD analysis of flow through muffler to choose proper model for CI Engine.
• Designed and optimised Flange Mounting Motor in close collaboration with senior engineer.
• Completed design and structural analysis of ceramic coated petrol engine piston using FEM.
• Recommended design modifications by assessing maximum permissible stress, Factor of Safety, and other parameters.
