Thesis

Design and development of 3D printed Metal Skateboard truck

  • Investigation of Metal 3D printing with research on literatures, its use in sports industry and calculated its performance factor.
  • Successfully completed 3D modelling of Skateboard assembly with its sub-assembly parts using Solid works.
  • Performed static structural and explicit dynamic analysis.
  • Performed Ansys analysis of modelled skateboard truck assembly in terms of total deformation, equivalent stress and strain with the real time situation.
  • Product performance testing using Ansys, achieved highest static load of 784.53 N and bearable impact load at 0.5 m height for real time situation.


Reduction in Lead time of connecting rod manufacturing

  • Investigation of an existing plant layout, product processing time, quality of the product, operators working methods and impact on production efficiency.
  • Development of the proposed plant layout on floor.
  • Successfully developed a highly efficient plant layout with all the processing time calculations of around 47 working machines on floor including operator's movements.
  • Achieved production efficiency up to 98% with proposed plant layout and reduced lead time by 2 days, and increased profit around 4 million INR per annum.
