During my tenure as Community Outreach Manger at The Wayside Chapel, I spearheaded the development and execution of a comprehensive Outreach Program in response to the challenges posed by the COVID 19 pandemic

Leading a team of 18+ staff, I designed and implemented a multidisciplinary approach aimed at delivering a high-quality service to significantly compromised and vulnerable community.

Street Outreach Worker

In this collaborative evening outreach role, our focus was on specific areas within the Sydney Local Government Area, including Kings Cross and Woolloomooloo, where individuals were experiencing homelessness.

I formed partnerships with multiple sister organizations within our district to deliver comprehensive care with a harm reduction approach. Working alongside midwives to support pregnant women sleeping rough, nurses reaching out to individuals not engaging with critical services, SWOP targeting sex workers both in brothels and on the streets, counsellors aiding those with significant and complex mental health disorders, and Health Education Officers, our efforts were concentrated on assisting the most vulnerable population in Sydney's CBD.

  • Providing education on safer injecting practices and safe sex
  • Distributing needle syringe programs (NSP) and making referrals to relevant services
  • Developing and strengthen interagency relationships to ensuring effective communication collecting accurate statistics and reporting to relevant stakeholders on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Partnering with a local sexual health clinic with GPs, counsellors, case workers, midwives etc whilst maintain and representing the wayside chapel.

I participated in the establishment and management of the Herbal Community Care Clinic, a swift-response initiative launched following the 2022 northern NSW floods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising the establishment of a rapid response team dedicated to delivering crucial aid to community members grappling with metal health, illness, and health issues arising from environmental and physical trauma.

A standout achievement includes co-establishing a two-year whale research program in the world's largest humpback whale nursery.
