Work History

Child and Parent Behavioural Support Practitioner

NIACRO

At NIACRO I supported families of children aged 8-14 years old with behavioural issues in school, home and in their communities. In our project CAPS (child and parent support) we worked in a team of 5 project workers to support one another while managing our individual case loads. At CAPS we work with children who are at risk of offending. I analysed each case and implemented early intervention strategies to prevent the development of more severe behavioural issues.

In CAPS I provided professional services and support in a dynamic work environment. I managed my time efficiently in order to meet task deadlines and manage my caseload. Working in CAPS we keep track of each case and our overall progress as a project using our online database. While working on the database I was confident in

  • Data entry, scanning documents and saved them in the database to keep records of essential project information.
  • Use of Microsoft office applications e.g. outlook, excel, word
  • Completing paperwork, recognising discrepancies and promptly addressing for resolution.
  • Prioritising tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of all assigned projects without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Analysing current data records to provide detailed case reports.


While in my role I increased client satisfaction by providing empathetic and compassionate care during sessions. In these sessions I cultivated connections and strong client rapport through active listening and empathy to foster effective engagement. I demonstrated a high level of initiative, creativity and resourcefulness while tackling difficult cases through development of innovative solutions.

I advocated for the families within community resources such as social service agencies, school, ADHD/Autism support and financial support aids when necessary for optimal outcomes. I often collaborated with interdisciplinary teams and specialists for comprehensive assessment and intervention planning, improving overall treatment effectiveness.
