- 19 year old from Guildford, England. Growing up I was part of Guildford hockey club for 5 years training on a Friday night and playing matches on a Sunday. In this time my team building and leadership skills have developed strongly to help us win the South Surrey Youth League and attend multiple England hockey training sessions and progress through the Player Pathway working alongside Englands first team players. I also played Football for Albury Football Club for 12 years, furthermore progressing my teamwork skills. I’ve played tennis for my local tennis club, Shalford Lawn Tennis, for 11 years and have taken part in competitions, fundraisers and much more leading me to start coaching. From the summer of 2019 to winter of 2023 i volunteered to help teach and train 8-10 year olds to further their tennis skills. In between this, the spring of 2022, i completed my LTA Level 1 and started properly coaching and running my own sessions on a Friday afternoon. I have been working at The Percy Arms in Guildford for almost 2 years and in that time have been trained as a waiter, learning the basics of hospitality and since then have become more confident and independent every shift. From September of 2023 to March of 2024 i have been working full time as a landscaper working for Andrew’s Landscaping LTD. In those 6 months i have been trained in carpentry, steelwork, concreting and much more. I went through scouts starting as a Beaver at age 7, going through to a Cub Scout then a Scout and eventually becoming an Explorer and finishing at age 15. In the time i was with them i completed all sorts of activities ranging from cycling 150km in France to getting first aid trained and even flying a helicopter. I have done 2 weeks work experience for JCB, everyday i was in something different. I was in accounting, service management, warranty, parts and finally in the workshop. I learned a lot about how a business runs and a lot about all the diggers being in the workshop getting them ready for delivery (fitting radios, lights, stickers, making sure everything worked).
