Through my involvement in the wider community and my ability to balance academics, work, and personal goals, I have undergone meaningful personal growth. Working shifts at both McDonald's and Flowers in Season while pursuing my studies has taught me how to manage responsibilities efficiently and stay organized under pressure, especially during exams. Their experiences have helped me develop strong communication skills when working collaboratively with peers and adults in a team setting. My time at McDonald's also underscored the value of leadership and coaching in fostering a cohesive team, deepening my appreciation for teamwork and collaboration values.
At McDonald's, as back-of-house staff and an area leader, I have learned to effectively balance my work, academic commitments, and social interactions with peers and colleagues, and customer relations remain positive.
This experience has provided me with valuable teamwork and collaboration skills, enabling me to efficiently operate equipment such as fryers, grills, and assembly lines, while also prioritizing the safety of my coworkers and maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment.
At Flowers in season, I am responsible for operating the stall at Flemington Markets, which includes selling products, processing payments managing stock levels making deliveries and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Additionally, at the nursery, I contributed by preparing flower roots for planting transferring them into flower beds. This has thought me to work hard and be resilient in my workplace.
