Summary

Successfully obtained Air Traffic Control License in December 2016, initially working Enroute sectors in Melbourne Centre. Completed the Approach Control conversion course at the Learning Academy in October 2018 before achieving Sydney Departures endorsements in February 2019. Became a Fully Endorsed Departures Controller in February 2021. Enjoy the challenge of training people and tailoring the delivery to get the best result possible from the trainee. I have also been undertaking CSS duties since July 2022.

Sydney Departures/ Approach West/ Departures West/ Planner/ DTI endorsements - since Feb 2021

  • Work as an effective team member with fellow departures and approach controllers for the safe and efficient processing of traffic.
  • Process military and civilian arrivals at RAAF Richmond, using a variety of approaches, including, ILS, TACAN, NDB, RNAV and visual, as well as facilitating departing traffic.
  • Sequence aircraft arriving and departing aircraft at Bankstown Aerodrome.
  • Facilitate military and civilian parachuting activities in close proximity to aerodromes and published air routes.
  • As the DTI controller, manage MEDEVAC and POLAIR FDR's and obtain and coordinate their requirements.
  • FIS for VFR and IFR aircraft.
  • Process, facilitate and manage the safe operation of air work flights.

  • Appropriately sequence departures for enroute sectors, using a variety of techniques, including, distance, speed control and vectors.
  • Monitor aircraft SID performance for compliance and separation with subsequent departures.

  • Apply wake turbulence where appropriate.
