• Support worker at the Day Program; a weekly group that draws on cognitive behavioural therapies and has a strong relapse prevention focus.
• Prepare written handouts on weekly group topics.
• Co-facilitate group.
• Conduct weekly counseling for specific group members. Use of strength-based and solution focused approaches juxtaposed with cognitive and narrative therapy.

• Help people connect with others on a similar cancer journey.
• To provide an environment where the Greek culture, heritage and language are privileged.
• To provide health information and material written in Greek. Minimize feelings of isolation and alienation and to connect people to programs and services that will benefit their overall well-being.
• Duties include: Facilitating group, writing and

mailing monthly newsletters to group members; organizing

monthly guest speakers; disseminating information about

group to Greek radio & print, chairing committee

meeting.

A three month community development endeavour that sought to understand cultural aspects and the key success factors for the delivery of cancer support services for Vietnamese people affected by cancer in the Western suburbs. A summary of the tasks;

· Identify supportive care needs, identify challenges, barriers and enablers to meaningful participation in health services and support programs.

· Develop formal partnerships and collaborate with peak bodies and consumers.

· Prepare a report of findings and develop a list of recommendations.

· Host reference group and provide an opportunity for key stakeholders to collaborate in developing a culturally sensitive intervention.

· Implement the recommended intervention.
