I'm a 26-year-old Irish professional with over 4 years of experience in civil and high-rise formwork. I hold a Certificate III in Carpentry and have my own tools and transport. Additionally, I possess a valid white card and HR truck license.
In my first stint with Aus Form, I initially served as a subcontractor on a multi-level apartment complex project in Brunswick during late 2022. Following that experience, I transitioned to a full-time role with Aus Form in 2024. Currently, I'm engaged across multiple projects in Melbourne, where I am helping in constructing various critical components of multiple level structures. This includes the building of suspended slabs, in-situ walls, columns, elevator cores, set downs, beam sides, stairmaster stairs, wet joints, capping beams, and various other formwork components. All using a conventional formwork system.
During my time at D-Way Constructions, a civil firm based in Melbourne, my primary responsibilities as a formwork carpenter involved the construction of various concrete structures, including retaining walls, drainage pits, ground slabs, stairs, footpaths, foundations and so on across different EBA Construction sites in Melbourne. Additionally, I actively contributed to other facets of construction, including steel fixing and concreting, on select projects. This involvement allowed me to gain valuable hands-on experience across different aspects of civil construction.
At Taylor Formwork, our operations were conducted under the Peri Gridflex system. Our focus was primarily on two multiple-level apartment complex projects, where I was involved in various different aspects of structural formwork. My work here consisted of forming, suspended slabs, stop ends, wet joints, columns, set downs and so on.
I worked as Struct Form when I initially moved to Melbourne. The work consisted of high end residential projects and some multi level commercial builds. During my time here I was responsible for forming up suspended slabs, ground slabs, columns, walls, stop ends, levelling decks and all other essential components to a structural formwork build.
I also undertook my HR Truck license while working here and some morning I would arrive early to the yard in order to load the truck and head out to site to go back on the tools for the day.
