Summary

I was born in Binzhou City, Shandong Province, China. My hometown is very small, but the scenery is beautiful. I was born into an art family. Since I was very young, my grandfather has been teaching me Chinese painting and asking me to practise calligraphy. When I was in the first grade of elementary school, my brush painting "Goldfish" won a first prise in the National Children's Art Competition. After my parents saw my potential, they began to train me in art, and my anime reached the level of 8 in 2014.

In 2016, I moved to Perth, Australia, with my parents. For me, it's a completely new living environment, but I still insist on painting. From 2018 to 2021, I persisted in learning painting at the Du FN Art Academy and actively participated in competitions. My self-portrait (Alisa) has been nominated for the Black Swan Prise for Portrait 2018 (exhibited at the Art Gallery of Washington). In 2019 and 2020, I actively participated in the Young Archie competition, but unfortunately did not achieve any results. In my third year of high school in 2020, I participated in the All Saints College Connected 5 Art Competition, which aimed to auction artworks and donate them for charity. My oil painting "Violet" won first place in my grade. In 2022, my work "No Place to Live" participated in the online exhibition "Merge Art Online Exhibition" and received widespread attention and praise.

I am currently preparing for my graduation project and sincerely aspire to collaborate with Gaffa Gallery.

  • I've created a series of works inspired by childhood memories. Since I moved to Australia at the age of 14, my interactions with my grandparents have been greatly reduced, and those childhood memories have gradually faded. I haven't been back to see my grandparents in three years because of the covid. When I returned home last summer, I was surprised to find my grandmother much older than I had anticipated, with more wrinkles on her face and a less rosy complexion than before. While lamenting the passage of time, I also realised that the house I had lived in for more than a decade had been sold, the alleys I had walked down countless times had been demolished and rebuilt, and my grandparents had sold their old furniture. I feel that all of the good times in my memory had been sold, and that the warm, nostalgic, and secure environment could only exist in my mind.
  • To commemorate my nostalgic and beautiful times, I will use acrylic and oil painting in this creation. Painting is a form of recording for me, and I hope to record things that have passed away so that I never forget them. In addition, I tried to incorporate textiles into my paintings.
