  • Conducting Geotechnical Hazard inspections and reporting of fill slopes within high risk mining areas and providing daily updates as required.
  • Conduct inspections on waste dumps and provide remediation plans for execution as needed.
  • Enforcing TARPs and rainfall triggers at high risk areas within the pit.
  • Conducting wall compliance checks through final wall and post blast inspections.
  • Providing advice to the production team on improvements on wall control trimming and blasting as needed for optimum wall performance.
  • Ensuring hard physical controls are in-place on the ground in the event of an active or potential developing Geotechnical Hazard event such as rockfalls and wall failures.
  • Collect and analyse sub surface monitoring data (inclinometer, OSP and VWP).
  • Collect and analyse surface monitoring data (radar, prisms and extensometer) and correlating with other instruments and reporting on the slope performance.
  • Assist in the coordination and assessment of the deployment of 6 slope monitoring radars (4 IBIS radars & 2 Ground Probe radars).
  • Creating new projects (wall folders), hazard maps (alarms) and masking out noisy areas on the both radar types.
  • Supervising prism installation and maintenance in the pit for 6 automated total stations (ATS) and over 1000 survey prisms.
  • Producing weekly and monthly Geotechnical monitoring reports.
