  • Tatler Schools Guide 'Prep School of the Year' in 2018.
  • Senior English scholarship teacher. This involved teaching and preparing prospective scholarship students for their specific senior school English scholarship exams. The list of schools are as follows: Eton, Harrow, Tonbridge, Radley, Sevenoaks, Winchester, Wellington, Westminster, St Pauls, Bradfield, and St Edwards. I have achieved scholarship success for students at all of the listed schools, including teaching five students who each achieved a King's Scholarship to Eton in 2022 - a record for the School.
  • Responsible for writing curriculum and mock tests for Year 8 common entrance composition and comprehension exams.
  • Responsible for the yearly poetry recital competition for years 5 to 8. This included choosing appropriate poems for each year level based on a theme; teaching the form, language and historical context of each poem; and preparing students for the effective, emotive and confident recital of their respective poems.
  • Responsible for the Accelerated Reader programme for the whole school. This involved regular testing; cataloguing all the books in the junior and senior library to adhere to the Accelerated Reader proficiency levels; working with the librarian to purchase new books from a range of authors and genres to expand and interest students to read; facilitating the engagement of students with the programme; instruct classroom teachers on the programme and organise monthly prizes and achievements for presentation at assemblies.
  • Regular engagement with parents regarding their son's progress including termly meetings, daily emails and unplanned conversations at the school.
  • The writing of detailed and thorough termly reports
  • Regular collaboration with the English department in order to maximise student engagement through lesson innovation, curriculum, differentiation and scaffolding.
  • Developed and implemented innovate lesson plans to engage students in English language learning, including, clear lesson objectives and outcomes, differentiated lesson tasks for all levels of proficiency and stretch tasks.
  • The department received a score of 'Academic Excellence' for the school
  • Collaboration with the history department on specific units of work throughout the academic year. Units of work included, wartime poetry; Elizabethan England for historical context on Shakespeare's plays, specifically Hamlet, Macbeth and The Merchant of Venice; and Greek history and the works of Homer.
  • The practical and effective use of I.T in the classroom including Word, Google Classroom, Mircosoft Teams, Accelerated Reader and Powerpoint.
