I have 20 years' experience working for the Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) in a wide range of leadership and management roles. My specialised areas are Human Resources, Community Engagement, Financial Management and Facilities. I have proven leadership in managing a successful team supporting over 100 schools and CFLC's across the Northern Region.

Currently as Acting Director of Operations I bring to the role a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, operational expertise and strong interpersonal skills. I have been in the position since February, 2022. I am a collaborative leader with dedication to partnering with coworkers to promote an engaged, empowering work culture.   • Manage and strategically lead operational functions, working collaboratively with Learning Division directors and leaders, principals and staff to support sustained school and CFLC improvement in line with our department's strategic plan
  • Develop and implement consistent and aligned approaches across Learning Services to support and contribute to achieving strategic plans and priorities particularly involving school level facility and infrastructure developments, financial management, workforce and staffing arrangements
  • Provide high level policy advice, guidance and support in relation to operational functions of Learning Services on business improvement matters and resource management practice, including processes which support schools, colleges and CFLCs to appropriately manage financial, physical and staffing resources, emergency preparedness, weather events and/or other facility related risks
  • Lead and facilitate effective high-level communication and negotiation with relevant business units, agencies, organisations and other key stakeholders as required, including community liaison and dealing with sensitive and complex negotiations
  • Manage and resolve urgent and immediate priority issues for the Deputy Secretary as they arise, together with preparation of complex correspondence requiring high level analysis, investigation and advice, including responsibility for addressing and completing ministerial enquiries
  • Work collaboratively within our Schools and Early Years Portfolio and key Department stakeholders to manage and align a consistent service delivery approach throughout the state in relation to operational functions, strategic planning, resource allocation and implementation stages to support integrated service delivery
  • Contribute to corporate leadership through the provision of high-level advice to the Deputy Secretary, Director Learning Service and the DECYP Executive.

Regional Human Resources Manager
