Summary

As an educator I believe we are lifelong learners. To be a teacher involves a reciprocal process of being both learner and teacher concurrently. One of my main objectives is to stimulate students’ curiosity, thoughts and opinions as they learn about the world around them. I support my students to enjoy learning as a meaningful and purposeful journey that is continually evolving. I believe that students learn best and experience success when they feel safe and are given the opportunity to explore new ideas, have fun and are empowered by their choices. I want my students to know that making mistakes is an integral part of learning and developing as a well-rounded person. This is a philosophy I apply to my own life. I believe that students thrive in a positive and collaborative environment where they realise that they can learn from their peers as well as their teachers. Students need to feel that their feedback is valued, this is critical for me as a teacher so I can align my teaching to meet their needs.
