Recent project examples:

• Preparation of environmental referrals, supporting documentation, and environmental management plans for dredging projects and marine construction projects in WA and VIC.
• Project management, monitoring, and compliance reporting for various ocean outfall projects for both government and private entities. This role includes coordinating multiple field surveys for water quality, periphyton and seagrass sampling, data analyses, and authoring the annual reports.
• Dredging assessment, including project management for multidisciplinary projects that involve water and sediment quality assessments. Projects include field survey work, preparation of a sampling and analysis plan implementation report, and engineering components, with a preliminary dredge options assessment completed based on the survey results.

Recent project examples:

• Preparation of Operational Scientific Monitoring Programs (OSMP) to ensure oil spill response readiness for multiple clients
• Preparation of Bridging Implementation Plans (BIP) to map Joint Industry OSMP Framework shared services to existing OPEP commitments
• Coordinated successful activation and completion of OSMP in event of minor hydrocarbon spill
• Baseline marine monitoring used to inform current environmental condition of port before decommissioning and arrival of integrated condensate and LPG storage offloading facility
• Environmental referrals, supplementary environmental reports and Environmental management plans for dredging projects and marine construction projects in WA, NT and VIC.
• Training staff in application of relevant research for example, WAMSI scientific dredging node and more recently Deborah French-McCay's work on entrained thresholds to prepare staff for potential changes to client documentation and more importantly targeted monitoring locations with changing EMBAs.

• Develop, deliver and review customised training materials, workshops, laboratory demonstrations and online programs for Certificate 2, Certificate 3, Diploma of Aquaculture and previously Diploma of Marine Science.
• Led small team of lecturers and technical staff at specialist marine training facilities
• Liaise with quality assurance team and external auditors including Training Accreditation Council Western Australia (TAC) and TAFE International WA (TIWA).

• Develop environmental impact assessments, environmental management plans, environmental audits for clients from various industries
• Develop compliance documentation and staff training materials
• Create workplace guidelines and community consultation documents
• Mapping of categorical data using ArcGIS.

• Policy research, data entry, editorial and other administrative duties within the Pearling and Aquaculture department / Integrated Fisheries Management department.

• Laboratory preparation of samples and microscopic observation of different larval stages of the fruit fly
• Collection and processing of floral samples taken from within a quarantine zone.

• Collection, processing and analysis of water run-off from petrol storage islands off the northwest shelf.
• Collection, dissection and maintenance of fish, molluscs and smaller organisms from different trophic levels; analysis and reporting to indicate the impact of limited hydrocarbons upon marine health.
• Collection, processing and analysis of desalination discharge water on mollusc spat.
