Amber McManus

If I am successful in this position, I will have just turned 21. I have my P2 manual license and my own vehicle. My hobbies are water skiing, horse riding and going to the gym. I am an outgoing, enthusiastic person and ready to give anything a go.

Becoming a governess or nanny on a remote property is a position I have always been interested in. I am passionate about the education of younger children and also wanting to further my knowledge of working on a property, I believe this position would be an amazing opportunity.

I am currently working in a Nursery Pod at Aurrum Kids. The ages of the children in the Pod are between 12 to 24 months. I pride myself on actively listening to the children and plan our activities around their routines, interests and needs. I can follow the plans of other educators in my team and also create my own to support the individual growth of individual children. I am kind and compassionate and learning more everyday when it comes to children's development, supporting behaviors and extending learning opportunities.

Although I still live at home, my parents spend extended periods of time travelling, therefore I am responsible for the upkeep of the house, looking after our animals as well as general house hold duties. I am comfortable being alone but I am also excited with the prospect of joining a small country community much like the one I currently live in.

I have grown up working on my grandparents farm from a young age. When we are shearing I help in the sheds with drafting and assist the roustabouts. I can confidently move the cattle around paddocks and to the milking shed on my own with the dog. During harvest, I help with bringing in our square bales by hand and stacking our round bales with the tractor.
