Hobbies and Interests

  • I receive tremendous joy from helping my patients achieve remarkable body transformations from plastic surgery. I have a particular interest in body contouring after massive weight loss as this specific branch of plastic surgeon is a unique intersection of reconstructive and aesthetic work.
  • I invest a great deal of time in teaching my registrars, as our health care system is carried by the strength of our training doctors. We are all a product of our teaching, and I hope to bestow upon the next generation the excellent teaching, ethics and care that I was privileged to receive.
  • My role with ASAPS has opened another important chapter in my career in my desire to support the future of my profession and the safety of our patients. As the Chair of Education, I convened the Annual Conference, wrioe the Annual Registrars Aesthetic Exam, hosted the ASAPS journal Club and lectured at the Non Surgical Symposium and Anatomy Cadaver Workshop. In the past two years, I have redirected the focus of ASAPS education to our trainees, younger members and nurses. I have actively promoted the need for patients to take the decision to have cosmetic surgery seriously and to ensure that they are well informed and have a good experience from their surgery.
  • I am hoping to contribute further to surgical training and research by returning to academia. I would thoroughly enjoy teaching medical students and hope to assist in the design and implementation the surgical syllabus for medical students.
  • I am married to a plastic surgeon and have two teenage children and a cavoodle. I have always loved the diversity of Medicine, and have been proud of the contributions my medical parents have made to their community both as doctors and as teachers of doctors.
