I have been very fortunate to have taken time away from my career to be at home with our three boys, aged 10, 8 and 5. As my children progressed through schooling, I have come to realise that I would like to return to the workforce within the education sector, so I can be part of something worthwhile.
I would like to be an SLSO, as I have a genuine desire to help the school experience, for child and parent, be as positive as possible. I have volunteered in schools teaching ethics, assisting with the reading programs for Year 1 students, as well as being the co-founder of the Willoughby Public School Parent Support Group for Neurodivergent Students. I have a lived experience of children with learning support needs, and feel very strongly about helping these students access the curriculum to meet their potential and enjoy learning.

I am the co-founder of this group, where we offer pragmatic and emotional support to parents of neurodivergent children in our school. This group was born from the personal experience of how isolating parenting a school-aged ND child can be and we want to be there to support the parents.
