The Property Services team operates within the Property and Precinct directorate and plays a vital role in delivering essential property-related infrastructure and support services to Members of Parliament (MPs) and electorate office staff.
To enhance service delivery and improve operational efficiency, the Property Services team introduced two distinct service streams: Assets and Projects.
In my role as Property Partner – Assets, I managed the ongoing operational integrity and asset performance of a portfolio of electorate offices. I am responsible for the long-term upkeep, safety and compliance, and functionality of these properties, balancing strategic asset management with day-to-day service delivery to Members of Parliament, Electorate Officers and Parliamentary staff.
Key Responsibilities & Achievements:
Proactively manage all lease obligations including renewals, extensions, rent reviews, and expirations within a dedicated property portfolio.
Conduct property condition inspections and regular site visits, serving as the primary contact for Members and Electorate Officers on all property matters, with a strong client-centric approach and commitment to excellent customer service.
Investigate, manage, and resolve ancillary maintenance and property-related issues using an internal help request system. Ensuring timely resolution with minimal disruption to Members and staff.
Prepare and maintain annual property improvement plans and budgets covering reactive and scheduled maintenance, refurbishments, minor works, rent expenses, and safety and compliance requirements. Ensuring electorate office fit outs consistently met Accommodation Standards and report on budget variances as required.
Coordinate and manage essential safety and asset servicing programs, including air conditioning systems, auto doors, fire safety equipment, and emergency exits, to meet compliance.
Maintain detailed and auditable asset records, lease files, and property information in centralised databases to support operational clarity and transparency.
Source, quote, and prepared orders for assets and services, including furniture, equipment, signage, and telecommunication services, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulations. Maintained accurate records and managed costs to stay within budget.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and clients, facilitating communication and consultation to aid problem solving and ensuring excellent level of client-service for stakeholder groups.

Procure all project-related goods and services in line with policies and procedures, including furniture, equipment, telecommunication services and signage.
Administered the end-to-end lease lifecycle: reviewing leases, conducting market comparisons, rent reviews, resolving and negotiation lease renewals and expires.
Regularly conducting on-site inspections to assess property condition, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction - resulting in prompt rectification of issues.
Investigated, managed, and resolved ancillary maintenance and property-related issues using the internal request system and supporting documentation.
Oversaw compliance with Essential Safety Measures (ESM), including the coordination of planned maintenance programs for air conditioning systems, auto-doors and other essential equipment.
