Amy Haslehurst

31 Hacking Drive, Narellan Vale,NSW

Summary

I currently hold a Diploma in Children's Services and I'm in the final stages of my Bachelor of Primary Education degree. I began my journey in early learning in 2011, where I obtained a full-time Certificate III trainee position in the 0-2's room here at WSUEL Bankstown. This experience highlighted that any future career decisions would be around a passion of child development. Since then I have remained as a casual, with the addition of completing two contracted positions. The most motivating factor for myself that has been the driving force for continuing my studies in child development is the power of knowledge. I believe that accommodating for all learners creates opportunities for different types of knowledge and therefore heightens the chance for success in all children. This passion of mine has recently been immersed into working with children with additional needs, as an ISS educator. I've really enjoyed working alongside my colleagues to challenge my usual way of responding to complex behaviuors and instead think about it from another perspective. Working with impulses to strengthen and enhance learning, through understanding and redirection. With my passion for education and the knowledge I have obtained during my studies and more recently, during the ISS role, I believe I am a strong candidate for this position.
