Advising the Commission in relation to four disciplinary action proceedings against the Casino Operator that resulted in 5 fines totalling $250 million and mandatory directions to implement changes to casino operations., Advising the VGCCC on the major changes arising out of Blackstone’s acquisition of the Casino Operator that resulted in significant and wide-reaching obligations being imposed on the Casino Operator and its associates through Deeds and licence conditions., Advising the Commission on implementation of the findings of the Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence., Solicitor leading the multi-disciplinary team responsible for the VCGLR response to the Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence., Solicitor in the multidisciplinary team who undertook the investigation into the Casino Operator for its conduct leading to the arrest and imprisonment of its staff in China for gambling related offences., Member of the legal team that undertook disciplinary proceedings action against the Casino Operator for junket probity failings resulting in a $1 million fine (the maximum fine at the time)., Successfully defended appeal to the Supreme Court in relation to a VCGLR decision on a liquor licensing internal review., Acted as Counsel Assisting in over 30 inquiries by the VCGLR in relation to liquor and gaming applications and advised the Commission in relation to their decision making process and drafting of reasons in these matters., Successfully prosecuted over 30 defendants for criminal offences under the Trade Marks Act (UK) (97% success rate)., Represented the Solicitors Regulation Authority in high level regulatory proceedings brought against Solicitors for professional misconduct at first instance Tribunal and on appeal in the Administrative Court., Represented British Sky Broadcasting Ltd, Federation Against Copyright Theft and TM EYE Ltd in commercial litigation and criminal litigation across the UK on an ongoing basis for over 5 years in relation to fraudulent use of their intellectual property. I recovered several million pounds worth of damages and revenue for one of these clients and successful criminal convictions for copyright and trademark offences on behalf of the other two clients., Prepared and appeared in large numbers of insolvency proceedings on behalf of the Australian Taxation Office to recover and protect public revenue in the Federal Court of Australia, Federal Magistrates Court of Australia, Supreme Court of Victoria, County Court of Victoria and Magistrates Court of Victoria., Defended high level preference claims related to insolvency on behalf of the Australian Taxation Office., Instructed Counsel at a murder committal, culpable driving trial and intentionally cause serious injury trials., Solicitor representing a significant number of victims of crime in claims for compensation.
