  • Monitor the functions of the TCMS Signal Control panels and electronic train program (ETP) & other systems as required.
  • Override the systems in response to any emergency or unplanned activity, involving the timetabling or operation of a scheduled service or movement.
  • Liaise with train/fleet controllers regarding the necessary train running, operational and train maintenance requirements.
  • Liaise with maintenance staff regarding equipment failures & regular maintenance.
  • Contribute to the achievement of on-time running, by adhering to the working timetable, and all special train timetable circulars.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Metrol & V/Line train controllers, infrastructure and safety teams.
  • Record in the signals control panel log book information such as reports on all unusual incidents and failures initializing times on and off and breaks taken from screen based equipment.
