The Health Professional Councils Authority (HPCA) is an administrative body and an executive agency of the Ministry for Health, NSW. It provides regulatory services, secretariat and functional support to each of the 15 Professional Councils with primary role to protect public health and safety.

  • I undertook case management and risk assessment of complex and sensitive health service complaints, as well as mandatory notifications, in relation to professional misconduct, impaired health, or unsatisfactory professional performance of registered health practitioners.
  • I regularly engaged with complainants and health practitioners with sensitivity, observing high levels of confidentiality and discretion.
  • I provided secretariat support during various stages of the Nursing and Midwifery and Dental Councils' regulatory processes, exercising regulatory powers and considerations of limiting health professionals in their professional activity, in order to protect health and safety of the public.
