  • Role History- Employed as a Deputy with exposure to Outbye Services, Development and Longwall.
  • I was previously employed as a longwall operator while also assisting with the installation. My role initially was in the TG 102 gate road development panel where I was given an opportunity to refresh my skills and knowledge after spending the past 3 years primarily working on the Longwall face. Exposure to the Moolarben cutting cycle, panel set up and belt move planning and requirements was of assistance to the skills and knowledge required to perform the Deputy/Panel Supervisor role at Moolarben Underground.

  • Role History-
  • Employed a mine operator early in 2012 I have managed over the past 5 years to be exposed to all departments including outbye services, development operations and more recently longwall operations.
  • With a view towards safe and effective execution of the shift plan and a high level of operational skills this put me in good stead to attempt a deputy’s qualification. I applied through Ulan West to undertake the Certificate IV in underground coal operations in which I was successful. I completed this course, passing my written and oral examinations and now hold a 3rd Class Certificate of competence to perform the role of crew supervisor/deputy.
