· Develop detailed project plans including project budgets, identify resource requirements, manage stakeholder consultation and develop key milestone reporting ensuring projects are completed within required timeframes, at or below budgets and meet agreed quality standards

· Monitor and evaluate all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness, and achieve project outcomes

· Manage project team/s, provide guidance and support, monitor and appraise work performance and facilitate their ongoing professional development to ensure they are fully capable to successfully deliver all key project/s milestones and outcomes.

· Lead, where appropriate, or participate in both internal and cross branch, divisional, and external agency project teams, working parties and similar forums established to develop and deliver diverse projects.

· Undertake research and formulate recommendations to support evidence based project planning and decision making

· Provide high level specialist advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy and environmental objectives and other project and priorities

· Maintain regular review and report on the status of projects managed; identify potential issues that may delay or obstruct project delivery and implement appropriate interventions to ensure their completion within agreed timeframes and budgets.

· Establish, coordinate and monitor communication and consultation systems to ensure the consistent application of policies, guidelines and project plans.

• Scoping for construction of infrastructure including buildings, roads and fencelines
• Procurement for road construction using MyProcure and MySelfServe for RFT/RFQ
• Development of Project Mangement Plan for roads and infrastructure
• Development and implementation of construction site inspection report covering WHS
• Coordination with senior staff and delivery of information
• Identified and resolved project issues and mitigated risks, reducing challenges and improving project results.

• Responsibilities: Fire and Flood damage Subject Matter Expert, advising senior officials on legislation, regulations and best practice
• Management of Project Officer staff (3 direct reports) and functions across the major townships of the BVS Local Government Authority
• Disaster recovery planning, including designing and delivering disaster recovery plans
• Council lead for the north in emergency response and management, including commendation for capacity to lead throughout the 2020 bushfire emergency
• Stakeholder management for multiple stakeholders to influence and negotiate outcomes of a complex nature
• Development of specifications and participate in evaluation of Tenders
• Management of contractors and contractor services including induction; insurance; WHS; risk management; environmental controls; compliance; meetings; and evaluation
• Supervise the progress of the Emergent Works, Immediate Reconstruction Works and Restoration of Essential Public Assets program, including consultation with asset owner
• Supervise the progress of the construction program and provide technical advice where required, including bridge constructions
• Management of Indigenous Impact Assessments and compliance with Indigenous conservation plans in partnership with Local Aboriginal Lands Councils
• Oversee the operation of plant to maximise its use (council and contract) in an efficient and effective manner
• Oversee WHS systems, worksites and documentation to ensure public and staff safety
• Co-ordinate and manage Councils’ electronic maintenance management systems
• Manage associated project budgets.

• Responsibilities: Coordination of works for flood risk management planning
• Oversight of works specific to flood and drainage across the Shire
• Work in close partnership with water and environmental teams to manage risk and response to flood events in the Shire
• Management of works schedule to ensure these are carried out in accordance with approved plans
• Management of community engagement and communications for emergency response flood matters
• Oversight of the clean-up and recovery response, including the restoration and replacement of essential public assets across the Bega Valley Shire
• Stakeholder engagement with key agencies including the National Disaster Recovery Relief and Recovery Agency, NSW Public Works, NSW Roads and Maritime Services and NSW Office of Emergency Management
• Contracting and management of contractors
• Preparation of job costing and tender documentation
