Assisted with Exercise Stress Echo and Dobutamine Stress Echo procedures for both inpatients and scheduled outpatients

Connecting and interpretation of 24/48hr amboulatory holter monitors and 24hr blood pressure monitors.

Triage and pre-procedure preparation of inpatient and outpatient Transoesophageal echocardiography and cardioversion procedures.

Procedure day preparation and assisting cardiologist with execution of Transoesophageal echocardiography and cardioversion procedures.

Triage and pre-preparation of electrophysiology patients awaiting ablation or implantation of CIED/Pacemaker including patient education and pre-procedure checklists.

Scrub/Scout and Monitoring Nurse for all procedures currently performed at Cairns Hospital.

These include:

Coronary Angiograms and Angioplasty including after hours emergency on-call

Implantation of Permanent Pacemakers and Automatic Cardiac Defibrillators

Electrical Physiology studies, Radio-frequency and Cryo-Ballon ablations

Aortic Valve Ballon Valvuloplasty

Rotational Artherectomy of calcified coronary arteries

Recovery post procedure and Access site care

Femoral and Radial arterial sheath removal

Preceptor Graduate nurses and Student nurses

Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.

Record patients' medical information and vital signs.

bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising.

Record height or weight of patients.

Restock patient rooms with personal hygiene items, such as towels, washcloths, soap, or toilet 
paper. 


Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.

Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.

Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate 
discrepancies or adjust errors.

Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.  

Drive trucks in order to pick up incoming stock or to deliver parts to designated locations.  

Customer service, delivering stock and goods through the loading dock, General clenaing duties.
