Employment at this centre commenced when it was owned and operated by Oxanda, trading as Bluebird Early Education. The company was brought out by G8 Education in November of 2017, where I retained my role as Centre Manager. It was also during this transitional stage that the centre underwent Assessment and Rating in November 2017, where the centre was rated overall as Working Towards, with a rating of Meeting in Quality Areas 5 & 6. Competent use of all G8 software programs and payroll systems. Use of QIKKIDS, Xplor and Proda. I am capable and efficient in rostering for up to 32 staff, including rotational rosters. During my time in regional Victoria, I have enjoyed making connections within the local community and utilizing these contacts within the centre. The most valuable of these contacts being services which services which support families and children at risk, and Goolum Goolum Aboriginal cooperative, supporting local indigenous families. *Having originally planned to move back to QLD in September, delayed due to COVID, and feeling the need to step back from the manager role, I remained at the centre in an assistant position from 1st October, until my intended relocation in mid January 2021.
This position had me based at the agency 3 days a week. I was responsible for overseeing the operations of 6 rural services, 5 Kindergartens, the occasional care program and Vacation care program. Duties include dealing with enquiries, enrolments, parent concerns, communications with DET, QIKKIDS, providing minimum monthly visits to rural centres for support on operations, programming and basic compliance issues, staff supervisions and appraisals and general assistance where needed across the services run by WUC. (Three month gap due to surgery, complications, subsequent emergency surgery and recovery time)
I was given the opportunity for an 8 week position as temporary director the Horsham Community Child Care centre whilst the process of hiring a permanent director was being undertaken. For this position, I was responsible for the daily operation of the service, ensuring rosters were complete, communication with all staff, parent enquiries and enrolments, operation of QIKKIDS and response to all emails coming to the service. This was an autonomous role however was supported by management throughout my time in this position, which ceased when a new team leader was able to start at the service.
In home care for toddler boy and infant twins. Position was offered to me by parent of previous employment, Goodstart Early Learning, as one of the twins was suffering chronic lung condition and was unable to attend centre based care due to risk of infection. Duties include general care and routines, walks to local park, basic house cleaning and other tasks as requested. Position was 2 days per week which reduced to 1 day per week mid-October due to clearance of twin to begin transition back into centre based care.
