• Supporting NDIS participants to achieve positive health and lifestyle outcomes in the remote community of Ngukurr.

• I recorded fluent language speakers and archived the recordings. I transcribed with a program called ELAN, the preferred program for writing down and translating our traditional Indigenous Languages. The Language Centre runs language classes with adults once a week and I taught my traditional language, Marra, at the school from grade 1 up to grade 6. I taught students to sing songs and call out animal’s names. Also, I led language bush camps at outstations around Ngukurr. We have 7 different languages here in Ngukurr although we are only working with 5.

My part-time role was to encourage mothers to buy healthy food and cook healthy meals for their kids and generally help educate the community.
