Enthusiastic and hard working student seeking learning opportunities for preparatory pre-clinical placements in a small animal veterinary clinic. Meticulous and detail-oriented with excellent observational, organizational and communication skills.
At Shining Valley Farm, I assisted the owner and the stable staff with their daily tasks, such as grooming, barn maintenance, and tacking up. I also travelled with the team to shows and assisted ringside, helping the riders warm up and prepare their horses for their rounds.
Each day, I was assigned activities that are involved with the daily operations of an equine facility, which included assisting barn staff with equine health care, grooming school horses, afternoon hay and feed, barn maintenance, as well as possible opportunities to assist with the veterinarian, farrier, and dentist.
I would also occasionally help new students and beginner riders learn to tack up, untack and groom their horses.
I was a teaching assistant for children aged 6-8 who had been diagnosed with SLD and ADHD. The summer program aimed at giving individual attention to students who struggled academically due to their learning disabilities, and the teacher prepared supplementary learning activities that were engaging. My role was to assist children with their reading, and helping them with craft activities.
