Summary

Nearing the completion of my TAFE studies and apprenticeship. I am eager to pursue strengthening and improving my knowledge and skills I have already acquired since starting my apprenticeship. I want to continue to build positive relationships with my work colleagues I have been working with over the past few years.

I am confident my skills learnt, work ethic and collaboration with other workers has been and can continue to be a valuable asset towards the team. I am excited to keep improving my skillset and knowledge about the industry and to gain more responsibility within the team.

I appreciate the excellent reputation that Essential Energy has in our area and beyond and I am very keen for the opportunity to continue my career with this organisation.

Skills And Experience

Since beginning my apprenticeship in January 2022, I have:

  • Conducted Zone Substation inspections and routine maintenances.
  • Learning how to test transformers and other network equipment for maintenances, fault and emergency and commissioning. For example, performing an insulation resistance test, turns ratio tests, timing tests, contact resistance and more.
  • Carry out High Voltage switching steps on the network under supervision of a competent tradesmen out in the field using operating sticks for overhead links, operating air break switches in zone substation yards or opening and closing circuit breakers via scada.
  • Assist tradesmen and other apprentices with work being completed in any way possible.
  • Operate tools, machinery and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn by asking questions and seeking clarification when necessary.
  • Built strong relationships with team members and supervisors, fostering a positive work environment.
