- At the height of the 2018 drought (April 2018) I founded Dresses for the Drought Australia. Having grown up in rural QLD, I founded Dresses for the Drought in 2018, after finding out that many schools in drought affected areas were 'calling off' formals due to financial strain. I put a call out to Australia and received 5000 dresses donated and 2700 suits to gift. In the first 72 hours, 750000 Australians engaged in our Facebook page. A total of 50 towns and hundreds of schools in the drought affected areas, have been dressed by 'Dresses for the Drought' in 2018. It is so much more than a dress, its a creation of a memory that they will hold onto for a lifetime.
