• Review and advise the company on risks and solutions arising out of various standard and bespoke contracts for clients such as Transport for NSW, Sydney Water, Water NSW, Hunter Water Corporation, City of Sydney, Unitywater, Auckland City Council, Brisbane City Council, various other local government councils and private companies (such as CIMIC Group, Lendlease, John Holland, Built and the like);
• Prepare commercial response to tenders and negotiate proposed contract terms with clients to achieve best value for money for the company. Forms of contracts include GC21, Australian Standards, NZ Standards, NEC and bespoke contracts;
• Attend internal risk review meetings with Estimators, Construction Managers and Finance to discuss contract risks against the scope;
• Carry out gap analysis and prepare back to back subcontracts for projects;
• Track developing precedent and legislation in contract law, construction and infrastructure law and commercial law to maintain expertise;
• Draft upstream and downstream contract amendments based on the agreed position with the relevant counterparty;
• Provide contract handover training to project teams to ensure compliance with contract administration requirements, such as strict notice regimes;
• Provide assistance to the General Counsel on various ad hoc legal matters including industrial relations, intellectual property, workers compensation and insurance.

• Established policies and procedures to suit the new structure of the company;
• Drafted the company employee handbook and ensured implementation of the same;
• Drafted and amended minor contracts for contractors and subcontractors;
• Ensured legal requirements in the company practices were strictly complied with;
• Coordinated matters of workers compensation with insurance company ;
• Advised Management of any alternative commercial models that were more efficient in terms of time and budget;
• Chaired weekly staff meetings and prepared in-depth productivity report for Managing Director on monthly basis.

• Ensured optimal contract terms and conditions were negotiated to minimise business risk and maximise commercial objectives;
• Reviewed current contracts to identify upcoming contract expirations and coordinated with stakeholders to analyze contract renewals and re-negotiation;
• Negotiated with new, ongoing and one-off clients including subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure fair, reasonable and positive outcomes for all parties;
• Researched laws and regulations potentially impacting company policies and procedures.

• Worked in various areas of law including but not limited to property, contract, commercial, personal injury, employment, civil litigation, criminal and family law;
• Performed client intakes and client interviews to determine case merit and viability, signed retainers, reviewed fees and costs, discussed case strategy with clients, filed various motions, wrote letters to clients, insurance companies, experts and other parties involved, prepared for trial as well as negotiated and settled cases prior to litigation;
• Managed all trial preparation for case litigation and attended to court mentions and trials;
• Drafted wills, contracts, claims, defences and legal correspondences.
