  • Set up the decontamination/inspection & assembly/ sterilisation area in preparation for procedures of instruments
  • Checked the IFU’s of each items especially the electronic instruments
  • Properly diluting of detergents into the water
  • Worked closely with the instrument technician senior staffs while preparing the decontaminated instruments to be cleaned by means of manual or mechanical cleaning process and chemical disinfection
  • Accurately did the types of tests of water/instruments in decontamination area like water-hardness test, surgidrop test, cleaning agent’s pH and protein detection with under supervision of my supervisor
  • Priority items/trays must be processed urgently but still need to meet the standards of AS/NZS 4187:2014
  • Verified that all the instruments are function properly, and if not, removed the instruments and labelled as ‘for repair”
  • Diligently cleaned instruments and work areas in accordance with sterilisation and disinfectant protocol
  • Recorded the instrument cycle details of each washer eg
  • Temperature and time of washing, cleaning and disinfecting
  • Ensured all the instruments from the washers are all clean and no traces of unwanted dirt
  • Assembled, wrapped and sterilised trays for Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) operations
  • Did the Hipot test for the bipolar and cable wires instruments
  • Properly labelling all the steri peel
  • Bowie-dick test must be done 1st thing in the morning and Leak rate test must be done all the time we used the sterilisers
  • Delivered and placed all the sterilised instruments into the sterile store in the correct shelves and container
  • Maintained a clean work area that assisted with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Identified parameters and sterilization method required for each item to be sterilized.
  • Corrected instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and instrument tracking systems.
