Portfolios included Patient Handling Ward Unit Trainer, BLS Trainer, Rosters, Updating and implementing clinical pathways as well as Schedule 4 auditor.

Nurse Educator in a backfill role working between three hospitals to provide nursing education and clinical support to permanent nursing staff, nursing students & new graduates. Training and education included resuscitation & nursing roles, triage and EDIS, IV cannulation, BLS, Manual handling and providing a support role in ALS training days.

Responsibilities include assisting with emergency nursing and resuscitative care, providing direct support to nursing staff, providing education and facilitating new staff, organising departmental staffing and day to day flow and rostering. Relief work in the capacity of DON and DON on call after hours’ point of contact for the Emergency Service.

Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department servicing the Gold Coast district and approximately half a million people. The Department contains 1 Resuscitation room, 14 Acute beds (2 paediatric beds), 12 Short stay beds, 6 Clinical Decision beds (usually Surgical candidates), 10 Minor Injury beds, 4 Assessment & Streaming beds, and 2 Mental health beds. Responsibilities include triaging, primary and secondary survey of patients including cardiac, respiratory, surgical and mental health assessment, and prioritising treatment options. Regularly involved in the Resuscitation team (RSI competent) dealing with Triage Category 1 patient.

The Department of 53 beds contains 3 Resuscitation bays, 17 Acute Beds, 8 Paediatric beds, 8 Short stay beds, 9 Minor Injury beds, 4 Assessment and streaming beds, and 4 Mental health beds. Responsibilities include primary and secondary survey of patients including trauma, paediatric, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and mental health assessment and treatment prioritisation. Assistance with resuscitation.

Registered Nurse on the Casual Pool working on multiple wards including Acute Medical Unit, Specialist Medical Unit, Medical Assessment Unit, Surgical ward, Emergency and Short Stay Unit, Palliative Care, Orthopaedic, and Rehabilitation Ward.

Registered Nurse on a full-time contract at Esperance Hospital (30 bed capacity) on Acute & mixed wards. Responsibilities include working on the acute ward and caring for medical, surgical, paediatric, and palliative patients as well as assisting midwives with births.

Registered Nurse in a busy walk-in Minor Injury/Primary Health Care Centre 6-bed treatment room. Responsibilities include children’s health checks & immunisations, medication administration, health assessment and care planning, chronic & acute wound care, ECGs, spirometry, cancer skin clinic.
