Acting Clinical Nurse Consultant on temporary full time contracts for the Emergency Department (5 bed capacity) servicing the indigenous community of approximately 4000 people and their visitors. Responsibilities include assisting with emergency nursing and resuscitative care, providing direct support to nursing staff, providing education and facilitating new staff, organising departmental staffing and day to day flow and rostering. Relief work in the capacity of DON and DON on call after hours’ point of contact for the Emergency Service.
Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department servicing the Gold Coast district and approximately half a million people. The Department contains 1 Resuscitation room, 14 Acute beds (2 paediatric beds), 12 Short stay beds, 6 Clinical Decision beds (usually Surgical candidates), 10 Minor Injury beds, 4 Assessment & Streaming beds, and 2 Mental health beds. Responsibilities include triaging, primary and secondary survey of patients including cardiac, respiratory, surgical and mental health assessment, and prioritising treatment options. Regularly involved in the Resuscitation team (RSI competent) dealing with Triage Category 1 patient.

Responsibilities include primary and secondary survey of patients including trauma, paediatric, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and mental health assessment and treatment prioritisation. Assistance with resuscitation.
