I am a NESA proficient accredited teacher. In my role as a high school music and drama teacher, I take pride in knowing my students and how they learn with experience teaching music ranges from years 7-12, including music 1, 2 and extension, additionally I have taught music in the IB syllabus from K-12, and at tertiary level at UNSW.
As an energetic employee I am an organised, creative and effective teacher with valuable experience in secondary classroom, as well as tertiary institutions. Equipped with a background in music education, I work as a student-centric instructor, both for students' well-being and as an academic facilitator in explicit instruction. I am competent at performing independently or as member of teaching team and am well-versed in classroom and online technologies.
Experience and skills gained in my time as general manager for the Australian Podcast Awards have been incroporated into my role as a teacher, growing and building connections, developing programs, and extending student achievement.
I taught at Chevalier for five years, in a role as a secondary drama and music teacher. I took pride in knowing my students and how they learn. My experience teaching music ranges from years 7-12, including music 1, 2 and extension. I created opportunities for my students to perform, both within the school, as well as in the community. Listening to my students and their parents is key to understanding what their needs are, and I enjoy the problem solving challenge of finding a way for a student to understand a complex concept. I have been involved in putting on plays and musicals and have also conducted the choir for concerts and liturgies, as well as the orchestra and jazz band.
