- Provision of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care for patients with complex needs with a focus on holistic assessments, intervention, and evaluation
- Gained insight and knowledge into the nursing care involved in post-surgical drain management, monitoring fluid and blood loss and the escalation of any concerns in line with facility protocols
- Identification and escalation of patient deterioration concerns in line with organisational policies and Standard 8 of the National Safety and Quality in Health Service standards

- As part of the Cardiac Surgery Care Coordination Team attending and actively participating in pre-admission, post-surgical, and consent clinic appointments

- This research initiative was aimed at enhancing the quality of care provided to our patients and their loved ones, and I am proud to have been a part of this important work and look forward to it being continued by future students
