I am a compassionate and motivated midwifery student in my third year of study, with a strong foundation in supporting and empowering maternal and newborn care. I am seeking to begin my midwifery career through a graduate midwifery program starting in 2026. I am passionate in supporting women in their pregnancy, birth and postpartum periods through culturally sensitive, evidence based and holistic care. I am eager to contribute my clinical skills, empathy, and have a commitment to continuous learning in a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.

Over the course of my tertiary education I provided antenatal, labour and early parenting support for 10 women and their families. Throughout my participation in the CCE program I deepened my understanding of holistic, woman-centred care and strengthened my ability to build trust and communicate respectfully with women and their families. I enhanced my clinical knowledge through supervised observation and participation in a variety of care settings and developed skills in professional documentation and reflective practice. The CCE program also taught me the importance of cultural safety, emotional support, and advocacy, particularly when working with women from diverse backgrounds. Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality was a key focus, as was learning to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.

I have known Annabelle since 18 January 2025. My husband and I accepted Annabelle as a Student Midwife to follow my first pregnancy and birth. Annabelle is an impressive young professional and a kind hearted, confident and curious young lady who is dedicated to her patients and profession. She has been very attentive and respectful from the moment we first met and kindly supported me throughout the pregnancy with her frequent check ins, kind listening and positive attitude. Anytime she attended a midwifery appointment with me she proactively assisted my midwife and confidently conducted blood pressure and abdominal checks. Annabelle’s positive attitude and attentive nature provided great support to me during my labour and birth and she worked very well with the registered midwives in the birth suite. She also confidently assisted the obstetrician during my perineal tear repair. Annabelle has also attended postnatal home visits and a GP visit with us and she continued to display professionalism and kindness towards both my baby and I and she proactively assisted the registered practitioners. For these reasons I have no doubt that Annabelle is going to be an excellent midwife and an asset to any midwifery team. If it was an option, I would choose her again to support my next pregnancy and birth.
